Piano Man - Billy Joel
Piano Man is by far the most requested and most popular dueling piano song of all time. In fact, the art form of dueling pianos can almost be credited with this song as it describes a piano player performing in a bar room type setting, taking requests from patrons, telling sad stories to the bartender, playing for tips and making the manager happy. Piano Man seems to sum up everything about the reason everyone loves dueling pianos, and piano players in general so much.
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Ah, the familiar chorus that gets everyone singing along, "sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah", Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl garners a ton of requests and it is one of the all time great sing along songs. No doubt there might be a birthday in the audience and the girl has brown eyes and it is her favorite song, and everyone wants to hear the dueling pianos perform the song for all to enjoy!
College Fight Songs
College fight songs are extremely popular dueling piano requests as there is always a local college sports rivalry in every town, big or especially small towns, where the rivalries run wild and people take their college rivalries very seriously! The rivalry between KU (University of Kansas) and MU (University of Missouri) is one of the most heated rivalries in the country, and someone is almost guaranteed to request their favorite school's fight song. College fight songs also bring a new level of performance into a dueling pianos show by starting a bidding war of sorts. Most dueling piano players will pit two or more local colleges against each other by playing one college's fight song until someone brings up money to stop that fight song and start another school's fight song. Then maybe another college comes up with more tip money and slaps it on the piano for the dueling pianos to stop playing that college fight song and start playing another college fight song. This can go on for a long time depending on the city that you are in!
Baby Got Back - Sir Mix-A-Lot
Oh, My, God, Becky, would you look at the size of her butt? Oh yes, this song has stood the test of time and remains one of the biggest dueling pianos requests of all time. Even today, years after the song was on the charts, Baby Got Back always gets the crowd on their feet and singing along. Be careful singing this song out too loudly, because if one of the dueling piano players sees you, they might just pull you up on stage to sing!

BEWARE OF CHEAP IMITATORS! There are some "fly by the seat of their pants" dueling pianos out there who show up dressed like bums, bring plastic cheap keyboards on stands instead of pianos, and if they are part of the chain dueling piano bars like "scowl at the goon" and "bernie gags" (not their real names, but you get the point) - they will send out their WORST pianists and cheap sound and lighting equipment. Trust us, we've seen it, and you don't want it.
